Kichkanya

Haunted no more, Shimla's Chudail Bauri to turn into children's park - dehradun - Hindustan Times

Ankit, with his parents, left the village at a very young age. Ankit and his parents settled down in the city, leaving behind old grandparents in the village. Ankit visited his grandparents in the village every year. He returned back to the village on every vacation to spend the time in the village. But, after he completed his school and started his higher education, he was unable to go back to the village due to various circumstances.

It had been long since Ankit hadn't returned back to the village. So, he decided to spend his vacation in the village, after he takes his exams. He decided that he would travel on his on to the village. His grandparents were delighted to see their grandson again. They last saw him when he was a kid and now, he was a grown tall man. For the first time in five years, Ankit was back to his native village. He wanted some walk around the village and visit the places, where he had a vivid memory of his childhood. He started in the evening and visited few places before returning back home. It was dark already when he was returning back.

He was returning back home in the dark, when he heard someone call his name, "Ankit!".  He looked back, it was a beautiful lady who was calling his name. The lady asked, "You're Ankit right?". Ankit replied, "Yeah, I am Ankit. Do I know you?". The girl replied, "I am Nikita. We studied in the same school. Remember?" Ankit was unable to recognize her, but when she provided some facts, Ankit believed that they went to school together. Even though he was unable to recognize Nikita, he started talking to her as it seemed as if she was his classmate. They continued back to the village talking about their school and some introductory talks.

Ankit was stunned by the beauty of Nikita. He again went out on the second day in the hope of visiting Nikita again. Luckily, he met Nikita again. They started meeting on a daily basis and both of them gradually started liking each other. Nikita told Ankit that she could come to visit her only in the evening cause she would be busy during the day time. Days past by and they were still going for a walk together every evening. One day, Ankit developed enough courage to confess his love to Nikita. Nikita decided to talk about it next day rushed toward the home. Next day Ankit was eager to know Nikita's response, but she didn't come to meet Ankit next day. Ankit returned back home with sorrow.  Next day, he again waited for her, but she didn't arrive. Ankit had lost his patience and he went to search Nikita throughout the village. Finally, he met Nikita near the forest, which was famous in village for spectral reasons. Ankit asked for Nikita's thoughts on his love proposal. Nikita agreed on a condition that Ankit would never touch her back.

Ankit and Nikita were getting closer day-by-day and Ankit was madly in love with Nikita. After few days of relationship, Nikita started visiting Ankit's room every night. She would get in through the room's window and get out through the same window before day-light. A thing that couldn't go unnoticed was that Ankit was getting thinner day by day. His grandparents noticed that he was getting thinner. They asked him if anything was wrong, but he said that everything was going good. Too worried, his grandparents took him to the village doctor. Doctor was unable to detect any illness, but she suggested some vitamins for him. They were hoping for the betterment, but it was getting worse. He continued getting thinner and started getting pale. Grandparents called Dhami for the treatment of their only grandchild. Dhami on his first sight told that the boy was on love with a Kichkanya and the girl is feeding on him. He is getting thinner due to the influence of the Kichkanya. Ankit refused to agree Dhami as he was madly in love with the lady. Dhami left the place instructing the grandparents to bring the boy to him the next day.

Next day, Ankit was taken to Dhami. He still refused to believe that Nikita was Kichkanya. Dhami explained Ankit that the Kichkanyas are extremely beautiful and make young boys like him easily fall on love. She then feeds on the boys and gradually kill them. They only appear at night and have twisted legs or some of them have a huge hole in their back. With is spiritual powers, Dhami found out that the Kichkanya was Nikita, who killed herself by hanging on a tree. She lived with her father and wished to go to the city for education and become a doctor. She failed her SLC examination and killed herself by hanging on a tree. When her father got the news of her suicide, he was rushing back toward the village but lost his life in the accident. When villagers went back to get the dead body, the body had miraculously disappeared from the tree and was never found again. Ankit stilled refused to believe that Nikita was a Kichkanya. Dhami gave him a very long thread and instructed him to tie the thread in her clothes without her noticing it and let it off until it stops, when she visits him that night.

As every night, Nikita visited Ankit's room through the window. When she was about to leave, he tied it on her clothes, without her noticing it, as instructed. He let it off until it stopped. Dhami was called immediately. Dhami, Ankit and Ankit's grandfather followed the thread that started from Ankit's room. It led them to a dense forest, where the thread was buried in the ground.  Dhami dug the place to find out the thread tied into a piece of bone. Sounds of girl's scream started from all direction in the middle of forest. There was a loud sound of a girl saying, "Leave me alone or all of you are getting killed !". Ankit and his grandfather got scared, but the Dhami told that it could be solved immediately. Dhami chanted some mantras loud and burned the piece of the bone turning it into a complete ash. As soon as the bone got burnt, the screams stopped.

Gradually, everything was back normal. Ankit started gaining weights and looked healthy. The fact disturbed Ankit for a long time. He returned back to city to rejoin his classes. Gradually, time healed everything.
