List of Nepal's haunted places

Nepal, a country famous for its beauty and tourism. It is also a country famous for haunted locations. Today, we discuss about Nepal's some haunted locations along with their stories. 

1. Aryaghat: 

Listed in world heritage site by UNESCO, pashupatinath is the holy temple of lord shiva. Located in the bank of bagmati river and near a dense forest, Aryaghat, is people's nightmare. Many incidents of ghosts visiting the ghat during night has been reported. Only few workers dare visiting the site during night time with fear in heart.

2. The Royal Palace 

On Jestha 19, members of royal family were brutally killed inside the Narayanhity palace ( Museum now). Culprits still remain uncaught and what exactly happened that day is a mystery.

Since the day, the palace is supposed to be haunted. The guards report of hearing gunshot sounds along with the sounds of people crying inside the palace. Also, footsteps are heard. It is believed that the souls of the Royal Family exist there.

3. Char Kose jhadi:

Char kose jhadi is a forest located in the Eastern Nepal. Forest is located on the way to Dharan from Ithari. 

Numerous paranormal activities has been reported on this place. People driving through this region have shared several ghostly experiences. Mostly, complains of old lady asking for lift during night were made. Reason for this could be the number of murders committed in the forest. Lots of dead bodies has been found in the forest since last two decades.

4. Devghat:

Devghat, Chitwan is one of the famous haunted place of Nepal. Devghat, which lies besides Seti Gandaki and Krishna Gandaki, is a holy place for Hindus. 

Skull of a dead body was found in Devghat in 2009. Also, many other dead bodies were found in this place. Locals claim that group of old ladies visit the site evey midnight and dance there igniting their own body.

5. Water Tank in Dhapasi

Near a busy street of Kathmandu, at Dhapasi, there lies a water tank which is untouched for many years.

Locals say that few years back a man was robbed and brutally killed near the tank. The dead body of man was found floating in the tank next day. Since then, the spirit of the man is said to walk around the tank daily. Noone dares to walk besides the tank even in a broad daylight.

6. Raniban:

Raniban is located in Achham district. The former queen often visited the place, thus it was named Raniban. Raniban gives a pleasant view of the mountains along with the view of sunrise and sunset. Unpleasant things go around this beautiful place during night and in daytime too. 

According to police, a girl was brutally raped and killed nearby a old tree. The culprit was found hanging dead in the same old tree. Villagers hear the crying sound of the girl crying near the old tree. Also the spirit of the girl roaming around the old tree is seen.

7. Sundarijaal 

Located inside the Shivapuri National park, sundarijaal is a beautiful and a cool place to hang out. Many people visit sundarijaal to have good times. Bagmati river flows through sundarijaal. 

Unfortunately, every year at least one people die in sundarijaal either by drowning or by falling of the cilff. Locals say that the people who lost their lives haunts the river. People rarely dare to visit the forest and the river bank alone.

8. Muglin-Narayanghat road 

Muglin- Narayanghat road is the busiest roads of Nepal. It connects the capital with Eastern and Western part of Nepal.

Countless cases of landslide in this route has caused death of many people. Every year at least a vehicle drops off the cliff into the Trisuli river causing deaths of many people. The dead people who lost their lives haunts this section.

9. Mount Everest :

Standing 8848 meters tall, mount Everest is the highest peak in the world. Every year many climbers around the world visit the summit to climb it. Everest is one of the most haunted places, not only on Nepal, but on the Earth.

Many people have lost their lives during the attempt of climbing the summit. Also on average, every year 5 people die in this region. People claim that the soul of the deads often visit the tents of the climbers and encourage them.

10. Bir Hospital: 

Bir Hospital is the oldest and one of the busiest hospitals in Nepal. Establishes in 1947 B.S , it is located at the center of Kathmandu city. 

People say that the ghosts are the soul of people who loose their life in the hospital. The ghost haunts the hospital and its surrounding.

10. A building near new road gate

New road is a busy part of the city located at centre of Kathmandu. New road gate is at about 10 mins walks from bir hospital. 

The local shopkeeper several times reported of seeing a shadow like creature in the building in new road. In 2012, a shopkeeper claimed of seeing a ghost in the window of the same building. Several reports were made on this incident. The reason behind this is unknown.
